about

‘Obsessive’ is the debut EP from Melbourne synth-R&B artist, On’yu. Its release comes off the back of two single releases, ‘Back At It’ and ‘Waiting For A Text’. The EP is a collection of songs largely focused around personal struggles with self-doubt and anxiety.

‘Obsessive’ highlights Rob’s musical influences with range from the R&B inspired grooves of the 1980’s, the eclectic production of Prince, Peter Gabriel, as well as modern interpretations of this style from the likes of Janelle Monae and Client Liaison.

On’yu brainchild of Rob Eggleston - sole songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Inspired by ’80s soul and fusion, with elements of contemporary nu-soul, On’yu sounds like old synths and late nights combined with smooth R&B grooves, pop melodies, and incisive, confessional lyrics.

'Realise' Synth Solo: David Dower
