‘Hot Wire’ is the fast-paced second single off On’yu’s upcoming EP Light Up, scheduled for release on 29 March 2024. The song celebrates the passion and fun of making music and explores the connection that music creates with others. It captures the excitement and joy of sharing your art and creativity with the ones you love, and the power that songwriting and artistic expression brings. ‘Hot Wire’ showcases On’yu’s vocal range, catchy melodies, and upbeat rhythms, and is inspired by On’yu’s own creative endeavours.

On’yu is a synth pop/R&B artist based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. The brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Rob Eggleston, his music combines catchy melodies, smooth vocals, and synthpop-inspired production. Influenced by artists like The Weeknd, Janelle Monae, SZA, and Tame Impala, On’yu creates a unique sound that blends the DIY elements of indie with the slick production of pop and R&B. On’yu’s debut EP, Obsessive, was released in 2023 and features a mix of 80’s soul, fat snares and 808 claps.
