‘Back At It’ is the third single from Melbourne synth-R&B act On’yu, and the first single off On’yu’s debut EP titled ‘Obsessive’, slated for release April 16, 2021. The project is the brainchild of Rob Eggleston - sole songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Inspired by ’80s soul and fusion, with elements of contemporary nu-soul, On’yu sounds like old synths and late nights combined with smooth R&B grooves, pop melodies, and incisive, confessional lyrics.

A smooth synthpop song, ‘Back At It’ features a soundscape of warm electric pianos and lush reverbs, mixed with RnB-inspired percussion and 808s. The track was inspired by the unspoken, lingering doubts in the early stages of a relationship: are they who you think they are? Are you on the same page? Dating can feel like a revolving cycle of anxieties and insecurities. ‘Back At It’ presents the emotional turmoil of a new relationship in On’yu’s mind. Will it or won’t it work out?
